Hitachi Elevator Engineering Company (Hong Kong) Limited was established in 1966 for the sales, installation and maintenance of Hitachi made elevators, escalators and moving walkways in Hong Kong. Since then, we have gradually expanded our business network in Macau and Mainland China. Following the establishment of our Macau Branch Office in 1980, we also expanded our business network in Shanghai, Guangzhou, Beijing and Haikou in the form of Joint Venture Company nd wholly owned company during the period 1984 – 2001. Moreover, we established our Konhitachi Elevator Engineering (Shenzhen) Co., Ltd. in 1996. In addition to this, we set up the Branch Offices of the new company in Guangzhou and Chongqing in 1997. Besides, Konhitachi Elevator Engineering (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. in Shanghai has been set up in 2001.

Plans are also in hand for the addition of more offices and service centres in other areas in order to provide a full range of service for our clients. While we are upgrading and expanding our activities to meet the diverse and ever-changing needs of our clients, we never forget the importance of “greater safety” and “better quality” which are the objectives that Hitachi has long pursued. With the introduction of advanced technology and abundant experience behind the name of Hitachi, we have dedicated, and will continue to dedicate all our efforts in bringing higher quality and technically advanced products and services to the market, and support these with highly trained and qualified personnel.

Our quality management system acquired ISO9001:1987 certificate in 1994 and updated to ISO9001:1994 version in 1995. For the current ISO9001:2000 version certificate, it had been upgraded in 2001. We are the first elevator and escalator engineering company receiving the ISO9001:2000 certificate in Hong Kong.

In order to provide quality and environmental friendly services to meet our customer satisfaction, we adopted ISO14001:1996 environmental management system with the certificate granted in 2001 to cover all our elevator and escalator business in Hong Kong, and upgraded the certificate to ISO14001:2004 in 2005.

The afore-mentioned certificates of ISO9001 and ISO14001 are issued by Hong Kong Quality Assurance Agency which performs the regular surveillance visit to monitor the implementation of our management systems according to ISO9001 and ISO14001 standards. The scope of the ISO9001 & ISO14001 certificates covers our elevator and escalator business in Hong Kong.
